Meet the couple behind Villa Tusculum

The couple, Anne Mette and Willy Støckler.

We have been coming to Fanø for more than 30 years, and the island holds a special place in our hearts. We have a cozy little summer house on the island, which we inherited from Willy’s parents, where we have spent many vacations and holidays with our children. Our connection to the island has always been strong, and over the years, we have had many wonderful moments on Fanø.

This is why we are especially proud to offer you a taste of Fanø when you visit us at Villa Tusculum.

We have made an effort to build a place that reflects the beauty, tranquility, and charm of the island, and we are incredibly excited to welcome you at Villa Tusculum where there is space and peace for you to create lifelong vacation memories.

Our path to Villa Tusculum

From nurse and entrepreneur to Villa Tusculum with heart and passion.

Becoming the owners of Villa Tusculum was certainly not something we had planned. Fortunately, life sometimes takes the most beautiful turns – and the story between us and Tusculum is, in many ways, a love story. Anne Mette is a trained nurse but has a career as the owner of a shop selling art, clothing, and shoes. Her sense of aesthetics and interior design influences every corner and detail of Villa Tusculum, and she has handpicked all the interior specifically for Tusculum to create the right atmosphere of coziness, tranquility, and well-being. Willy is a passionate entrepreneur and investor with several projects under his belt, including a furniture store and even a campsite. Villa Tusculum has become our joint project, and we have put our hearts into every single detail. It has become a place where aesthetics and entrepreneurial spirit come together in a unique fusion. And with the desire to help preserve one of the last historical villas at Fanø Bad.

A love story

It was actually by pure chance that we stumbled upon Villa Tusculum. We were initially interested in a smaller summer house on Fanø, but after searching for the little house online, we had to give up. Instead, we came across Tusculum, and we immediately fell in love.

A few phone calls and a drive later, we stood in front of Tusculum, fortunate enough to be shown around. We were immediately drawn to the surroundings and the authenticity of the beach house atmosphere with high ceilings and old paneling. We knew that we wanted to preserve the place’s special soul and history – and that has been a guiding principle throughout the restoration, which has been carried out carefully and with respect for the property’s roots. That’s why we have renovated, cherished, and preserved much of the original features from the house’s construction, which bear witness to the place’s origin.
