Practical information in connection with your stay at Villa Tusculum
We have gathered what you need to know and answered the most frequently asked questions from our guests.
Check-in and check-out:
You are welcome to check-in from Friday at 3:00 PM, and we kindly ask you to leave the villa before 10:00 AM on Fridays for check-out.
Minimum nights:
During the peak season, the minimum stay at Villa Tusculum is one week, while outside the peak season, it is possible to book the apartments for a minimum of three nights.
Cleaning:
The apartment will be handed over to you clean, with beds made, clean bed linen, fresh towels, etc. Please note that there is no cleaning during your stay. However, we will take care of the final cleaning when it is time to leave Tusculum. The final cleaning is included in the price. Therefore, you will not have to do anything when leaving Tusculum except emptying the refrigerator and tidying up after yourself.
Ferry to Fanø from Esbjerg:
Fanølinjen operates between Esbjerg in Jutland and Nordby on Fanø. The crossing only takes about 12 minutes, and the ferry to Fanø departs approximately every 20 minutes. The departures can be found at www.fanoelinjen.dk. You can also purchase your ticket in advance on the website. However, this is not necessary as you can also buy tickets at the ferry terminal. During the peak season, additional ferries are scheduled.

At Tusculum, there is a private parking space available for all our guests.
Renting the entire Villa Tusculum:
It is possible to rent the entire Villa Tusculum, including all four apartments. Contact us to receive a tailored offer if you are a group of friends wishing to stay with us. Renting the entire Tusculum is also relevant for businesses.

Villa Tusculum is the perfect place for team building activities, workshops, development, and similar events for businesses. It is a unique opportunity to take your team or company away from your daily workplace and create a space for new ideas and creativity.

Welcoming letter and practical information:
Upon your arrival at Tusculum, you will find a welcoming letter with information about the villa and its facilities. In each apartment, you will also find a folder with practical information about everything from WiFi and Apple TV to remote-controlled curtains, dishwasher usage, payment for wine and beer (additional purchase), and much more. You will also find a basket with manuals for operating the apartment’s appliances.
Recommendations from the hosts:
We have compiled a list of recommendations consisting of many of our favorite spots, restaurants, experiences, etc., for you in the folder which you will find in all the apartments. These are our suggestions for the best places to visit during your stay on Fanø. Use them for inspiration.
Smoking:
Smoking is not allowed indoors at Villa Tusculum, neither in the apartments nor in the common areas. Smoking is only permitted outdoors. We kindly ask that you consider the other guests in the villa and, of course, clean up cigarette butts after yourself.
Pets:
Villa Tusculum is for adults only:
A stay at Tusculum is a vacation focused on peace, relaxation, well-being, immersion, and enjoyment. Therefore, Villa Tusculum is exclusively for adults over 18 years old.
Wine cellar:
In Tusculum’s basement, you will find our private, authentic wine cellar, offering a carefully selected assortment of wines. Enjoy the wine at the table in the wine cellar or take a bottle of wine to your apartment, where you will also find a wine refrigerator.
All wine, as well as beer from Fanø Bryghus, is available for purchase on-site.
Note the historic, old wine bottles that are still in the wine cellar, which were part of Villa Tusculum when we took over the property.
