After Fanø there is sea, where many ships have traveled several nautical miles. There are actually more than 600 nautical miles of sea before you land a little north from Newcastle upon Tyne in England. From the top apartment THE VIEW in the more than 100-year-old villa, Tusculum, you cannot of course see very far. All the big hotels from Fanø Nordsøbad are gone, only Kellers still stands, and of the many villas from around 1900, only four remain; Villa Nina, Villa Quisisana, Villa Marie and Villa Tusculum. They thus constitute the last architectural remains of Fanø Nordsøbad’s history.

The story behind the three-story brick villa begins on September 1, 1894, when the German Baroness, Mrs. Anna von Granier, from Hanover buys a plot of land in the second row of dunes. Then construction begins on the more than 500 square meter villa, which is one of the first buildings at what will later be known as Fanø Vesterhavsbad.
